Random Ramblings

I hope that everyone in Japan won’t have to suffer too many more of these aftershocks. It really is hitting the country hard. I just hope they can recover from all of these earthquakes.

Removed Comment System

I removed the Disqus comment system from the blog. It seemed to have too many issues, and, now that I realize it, wasn’t even necessary.

I want to keep this blog as simplistic as possible, so this is a step forward to me. I hope whoever reads this enjoys what I post (whenever I get around to it :P)

Classic.

If we cannot remember the past, then we are condemned to repeat it.
New SBSettings toggle - Remove Background

This package will add a button to SBSettings that will close all running apps (even in the multitask bar) and free up your device’s RAM. I can verify that when my iPod was running slow this speeds it up just fine.

You can find it in the BigBoss repo, with the package name “Remove Background SBSettings”.

Highly Recommend - StumbleUpon

StumbleUpon is a service which loads websites based on your interests. The core part of the service is the Firefox add-on, which lets you “Stumble” to find the web pages based on your interests. (You specify these interests when you sign up for the service)

You can sign up for StumbleUpon here and download the Firefox add-on here.

This keeps looking more epic with every trailer they release for it. 1 month tomorrow till it launches.

If you have ever found that there is a Youtube video that you want to download (whether to put it on your iPod or elsewhere), you may be asking yourself, how do I do this? Youtube doesn’t provide any links for me to download it, so how can I?

The answer is the 1-Click Youtube Downloader add-on for Firefox. With it, it will add simple MP4, FLV, and even HD (if the video supports it) download links below the video. All you have to do is click on the desired format you want to download the video in, choose where you want to save it, and you’re done.

For me, this is much simpler than some of the other ways out there. The only downside is that it only works with Firefox. So all you IE, Opera, Chrome, etc. users will have to find another way. Although I do highly recommend you switch or consider switching to Firefox, especially with the big 4.0 update rolling out soon.

What’s your favorite way to download Youtube videos? (besides this excellent add-on) Share them in the comments.
